I am currently on the road with my family on vacation but wanted to update you on the current flooding in NW Iowa.
if you have not seen the news there is substantial flooding in Northwestern Iowa impacting a number of LCMS churches and thousands of people. Right now, the DDRC for Iowa West is working her way around to do primary assessments in the impacted communities. After she has had a chance to make those assessments and a plan, I am confident there will be a need for teams to deploy.
With that I would ask a couple of things from you:
First, as tempting as it might be to reach out to the DDRC directly please send all communications and questions through me.
Second, please start making preparations to deploy if they have the need. Take a look at your books and go through the check lists. Also, if you do not have a background check they can take up to 48 hrs to complete so as soon as you are able, please complete the info through this site for your background check.
Finally, I will keep you updated as I receive information on what is going on.
