For all LERT volunteers. Please note that I have rescheduled the deployment at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna, Mo. to August 14 thru 18, 2024. Watch for additional updates about it over the next month.
There is still a great need for LERT volunteers in Rogers, Arkansas. Please consider volunteering for the tornado chainsaw cleanup if you are available. They need chainsaw operators and they need Basic LERT volunteers for draggers as well.
A new deployment will soon be posted for the flooding in Spencer and Hawarden, Iowa. At this point in time we have over 80 homes on the list. The first couple of weeks will be muck out and power washing basements and a few first floors. The next phase will be the rebuild of insulation and drywall. Currently we are anticipating 6 months to a year for the rebuild deployment. We have arranged housing at Camp Okoboji for the Spencer deployment and at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton, IA (near Hawarden, IA where the flood occurred).
If you are interested, keep an eye out for the deployment being posted on the Iowa West LERT page. You can Fan districts you wish to receive LERT information from for your planning.
For Basic LERT training in Missouri a new training will soon be posted for Saturday August 24th at Grace Lutheran Church in Aurora, Mo. All of the churches in the surrounding area are invited to send members to this training.
