As Hurricane Helene approaches Florida, we pray that you make sure to keep your family safe and help those needing to evacuate.
While it is still too soon to determine exactly where Helene will come ashore, where and to what extent damage will occur, and what disaster recovery will look like. Once the storm has passed and we are able to hear from our Circuit Visitors, and to come in and assess needs, we will provide updated information.
LERT volunteers should prepare for deploying by making sure equipment and your personal go-kit are ready. This is a STANDBY notification only.
Over the next 8 - 12 weeks, Florida-Georgia Lutheran Early Response may be needing volunteers, helping as: cooks, facility cleaners, job assessors (experienced or we can train), equipment transporters, bobcat operators (we can train), chainsaw operators, and equipment mechanics.
Please pray for all those in the hurricane's path.
