Upcoming Training and Deployments in Missouri, February 25–28, 2026.

Training: 

We currently have 1 Basic LERT class scheduled and in the system. We are also preparing 4 additional Basic LERT classes that will be posted soon.

We have 1 Basic Chainsaw Class scheduled.  In addition, we are preparing and scheduling 2 Chainsaw classes and have not yet finalized dates. We are discussing scheduling an intermediate Chainsaw class for possibly late summer or early fall.

Deployments: 

We currently have two deployments scheduled, with additional deployments in progress. At this time, there are nine properties in the St. Charles County area that each require a tree to be felled, limbed and bucked. All potential tree deployments are still being evaluated and coordinated. Please continue to check the LCMS-LERT.org website to see which deployments are near you and whether you are available to help. All of these potential chainsaw deployments are moving targets and may change as I visit each site.

Saxon Lutheran Memorial Deployment: 

Due to last year's fire that eliminated the visitor center and bathrooms, Saxon has reprioritized the projects we are supporting. The current deployment is February 25 through 28. Housing will likely be available, 4 RV sites, several nearby B&Bs and local hotels in Perryville. When I post the deployment, I hope to have all of the details confirmed. For now, the tasks will require LERT chainsaw operators, LERT volunteers to drag and stack limbs, carpentry work,  moving glass cases and tools out of the carpentry shop, moving wooden planks, checking old log cabin logs for termite damage and then sawing them into more usable pieces, moving old tools out of a portion of the barn and building a wooden floor in that room. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up either for the entire deployment or for a day. I haven't worked out meals yet, so if anyone would like to volunteer to handle all meals for the crews, please contact Kris Schuldt at 314-971-5747.
