The Southern Illinois District (SID) of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod has a new website and the SID LERT program is now included under the listing of Missions in the SID. Southern Illinois District - LCMS (sidlcms.org)
We hope and pray that more congregations in the SID become aware of the LERT program and the mercy of our Lord that team members can bring to those suffering from natural disasters, both here in southern Illinois, our nation, and abroad.
Should a natural disaster affect a community in our District, several documents are included on the LERT page of the SID; Medical Forms for volunteers, Work Order Form for work to be performed on an affected property and a Liability Release Form for the property owner to complete. Please feel free to download and print these forms as needed.
As the LERT program continues to grow in our Synod, we wish for our program to continue its growth in the Southern Illinois District. If your congregation, or a congregation you know of, wishes to receive LERT training, either the Basic Training or a Basic Chainsaw Training, please contact the SID District Disaster and Response Coordinator (DDRC) or his assistant (both listed below) to schedule a training.
