The Southern District will NOT be deploying to Rolling Fork, Mississippi for the recent deadly tornado outbreak recovery efforts. We have received information that several of the larger national ministries (Samaritan’s Purse, Eight Days of Hope, Team Rubicon, etc.) are going to deploy to Mississippi. With the closest LCMS congregation 45 miles away, and all of our resources currently being used in Selma, Alabama to recover from the Jan. 12 tornado in Selma, Alabama, we have decided to continue the recovery efforts in Selma where Trinity Lutheran Church is very active in community recovery.
ALL other ministries have pulled out of Selma so please consider joining in one of our three remaining deployments. The next opportunity to serve in Selma is April 17 to 21. Please keep the people of Alabama and Mississippi in your prayers.
