Join the team with Forged by Fire at the Southern District Office in Slidell, LA as we pack around 200 five-day shelf-stable food boxes. This is an indoor event, so no need to worry about the weather that day! We will start at 9 a.m. and finish by 11 a.m. 

You will still have plenty of time to enjoy the day!

You should be prepared to stand for 2 hours and lift up to 25 lbs.

Volunteer: Local LERT Team Event, Tree Damage Response, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wentzville MO, 3-21-2026

LERT volunteers are needed to remove 8 trees at 5 different locations in the St. Charles County and St. Louis area. Volunteers will meet in the parking lot near Immanuel's storage building behind the school playground. School address: 632 East Highway N, Wentzville, MO. The 5 work orders for the tree removals will be distributed at 8:00 a.m.

All volunteers are encouraged to wear yellow LERT shirts or vests, wear sturdy boots, bring work gloves and hardhats. Volunteers are needed to work as draggers.

All chainsaw volunteers are required to wear appropriate PPE. 

Volunteers will need to bring their own lunch, lawn chair, water and Gatorade to this event as we will be divided into 4 crews all working in different locations.

District: Missouri

LERT volunteers are needed to remove and replace 1 to 2 sheets of wet drywall in the Pastor's office. It is anticipated that we will conduct demolition and mold mitigation on the first day of the deployment. On the second day, we will install new insulation and drywall and begin taping and mudding.

Local forces will load the debris in a trailer for removal.

Lunch, water and Gatorade will be provided by the local church.

We will have most of the tools that are necessary for demolition and hanging drywall. Volunteers can provide their own tools if they so choose. All volunteers are encouraged to wear yellow LERT shirts or vests along with appropriate work boots and gloves.

LERT volunteers are needed to rehab an existing bathroom into an ADA compliant bathroom. Work will include, demolition and removal, construction of short new walls, insulation and drywall installation, construction of a new ADA shower, replacing the tile floor, painting the walls and adding new siding where the window was.

Plumbing and Electrical work will be conducted by professionals.

All volunteers are encouraged to wear yellow LERT shirts or vests. Most of the tools necessary to conduct this work will be provided. If a volunteer wants to bring their own tools, that is ok. Sturdy work boots and work gloves are required.

Lunch, water and Gatorade will be provided.

We will meet at the home of the work instead of the listed church. Site supervisor will provide the address to the volunteers that sign up. It is located in St. Charles County.  

It is anticipated that work days will be flexible based on the plumber and electrician schedules as well as the homeowner. Please keep aware of the next day schedule by communicating with the site supervisor or by checking the web page.

Housing will be provided at the Camp.  Volunteers should bring their own bedding, either sleeping bags or blankets, and pillows.  You should also bring your own towels.
