Volunteer: Local LERT Team Event, Bathroom Rehab to ADA compliant, Immanuel Lutheran, St. Charles MO, 4-6 thru 5-30-2026LERT volunteers are needed to rehab an existing bathroom into an ADA compliant bathroom. Work will include, demolition and removal, construction of short new walls, insulation and drywall installation, construction of a new ADA shower, replacing the tile floor, painting the walls and adding new siding where the window was. Plumbing and Electrical work will be conducted by professionals. All volunteers are encouraged to wear yellow LERT shirts or vests. Most of the tools necessary to conduct this work will be provided. If a volunteer wants to bring their own tools, that is ok. Sturdy work boots and work gloves are required. Lunch, water and Gatorade will be provided. We will meet at the home of the work instead of the listed church. Site supervisor will provide the address to the volunteers that sign up. It is located in St. Charles County. Lutheran Servants for Christ and Lutheran Church Charities are partnering with Spartanburg Emergency Operations Center to assist families still recovering from Hurricane Helene. Participants will be assisting community members as they travel through the Market Place. Lunch will be provided, housing is not provided. The Market Place will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Ability to listen to guests, encourage, pray with them, and help carry items are the main requirements. Already 250 families have signed up to participate. District: Southeastern This Local LERT Event will be held on Saturday, May 30. Our dedicated volunteers will construct a new deck with stairs and handrails, creating a safe and accessible space for him to eventually enjoy a fire pit. Additionally, we are trimming back hazardous tree limbs over his roof to prevent costly storm damage. Lunch, snacks & water will be provided. We will be meeting at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church on June 2 @ 8:00 am for carpooling or a caravan to his home in Bartlesville, OK.
