Trinity Lutheran is assisting with cooking and serving meals to individuals experiencing food insecurities.  Arrive at facility at 0745hrs. Provide meals from 0900hrs to 1100hrs. Clean up, anticipate event over at 1130hrs. 

No open shoes, cap for head required.

Volunteer: Local LERT Team Event, Clean up Trees, Heit's Point, Lincoln MO, 07-14 thru 07-16-2026.

LERT volunteers are needed to clean up and remove approximately 20 trees along with debris in various areas of the camp. 

All LERT volunteers are encouraged to wear yellow LERT shirts or vests along with sturdy boots, work gloves and hard hats. All chainsaw operators are required to wear appropriate PPE. Please watch the weather and bring appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.

Water, Gatorade and meals will be provided.

Housing is available:

Bunkhouse has bunks, showers, toilets and sinks. Volunteers will need to bring their own toiletries, linens, pillows and towels. There are 2 sides to the bunkhouse: one for men and one for women. Suggested donation is $25/night.

Spitz Center has the equivalent of hotel rooms and is $90 for 2 nights. Linens and toiletries are provided.

There are 14 RV sites with electric, dump station and water.

Volunteers will need to contact the Camp Director, Janine Mallardi, at 620-795-2008 to reserve housing options.

The LERT trailer from St. Paul Concordia will be on the site. Chainsaw operators are encouraged to bring their own chainsaws, etc., if you have them.

Volunteer: Local LERT Team Event, Tree Removal, Trenching and Facility Work, Saxon Lutheran Memorial, Frohna MO, 7-20 thru 24-2026

LERT volunteers are needed for multiple tasks at Saxon Lutheran Memorial. We will fell and remove 2 dead trees and approximately 40+ widow makers. We will have a lift available for this work. Chainsaw operators are required to wear all required PPE. Two volunteers with experience will dig a trench with a trencher to place a new buried electric line to the old Carpentry shop, and will place new LED lighting.

Another group will be moving old logs and lumber as well as cutting out the deteriorated portions of the old logs. We hope to bring our skid steer to help with this task.

LERT volunteers are also needed to do finish work in the last few bathrooms in the new bathroom building. Volunteers will need to bring their own carpentry tools for this work.

All volunteers are encouraged to wear yellow LERT shirts or vests. NOTE: we welcome all volunteers to attend this deployment even if you don't have the skills necessary to do the above work. We will mentor you. Please consider signing up for the entire week or just for one or two days. All are welcome.

Housing is available in the newly restored cabin across from the new bathroom house. It has 4 rooms and is airconditioned. There are 2 beds in one of the rooms (first come first served). Or you could bring a cot or air mattress. Bathrooms and showers are near the cabin. Volunteers will need to bring all of their own bedding and towels etc. There are RV spots in nearby Altenburg and near Perryville. Join us Saturday, AUGUST 22nd, from 12:30–2:30 pm for a General Cleanup of the homeless encampment located at the Pig's Eye Regional Park, East St. Paul, MN.  LERT trained and non-trained volunteers are welcome - 18 years and older.   No background check is necessary.

We will be serving a great feast, picking up garbage, distributing relief supplies, etc., all the while having opportunity to be Christ's presence among a population in great need of mercy.

Carpooling is advisable as parking is limited at the 1200 Warner Rd., St. Paul, (at the intersection with Fishhatchery Rd) address. 

Dress appropriately for the work and the weather.  If you have either a LERT T-shirt or work vest, please bring them along to wear.  We will have some available for those who don't have them.
