Forged by Fire is a disaster feeding team that works with The Village Church Lutheran Feeding Ministry, Lacombe LA, under the direction of Rev. Paul Ernewein. Volunteers serve 800 - 1,200 freshly prepared meals to communities throughout the Hurricane Ian-affected area.
Volunteers are needed to help with (all or specific tasks)
- transport,
- set up,
- prepare,
- serve, and
- cleanup.
Food service experience is not necessary, but helpful. You must be able to stand on your feet for the duration of the event, lift 30 pounds, endure the hot & muggy Florida temperatures, and bring a smile and great attitude. This is a family-oriented event for those age 16 and over.
Bring: small cooler with drinks for you, snacks, a great attitude and smile, and desire to show the love of Christ to others affected by the hurricane.
Hours listed are 9:00 am - 7:00 pm but may go longer.
