Volunteers needed to help cleanup efforts following the tornado in Andover, KS on April 29, 2022.

Nature of work: Chainsaw work (for LERT trained chainsaw volunteers & teams only), includes dragging and pulling limbs and stacking.

THIS IS A ONE DAY EVENT. Volunteers must be totally self sufficient: bring your own meals, snacks and water. Cool down site with bathrooms may be available at Peace Lutheran Church in Andover. A soon as we can confirm this, we will let you know.

Personal Protection Equipment & Gear:

  1. Sturdy shoes with a good solid sole & socks - no sandals, flipflops, Hey Dudes or sneakers.
  2. Long pants
  3. Long sleeved shirt (recommended)
  4. Hard hat
  5. Safety glasses/eye protection
  6. Sturdy work gloves
  7. Chaps
  8. Water bottle
  9. Chainsaw
  10. Chainsaw tool box including fuel, bar oil, etc.

If your group or team has a first aid kit, bring it with you.

Local COVID protocols cannot always be followed in a disaster response situation. We ride in trucks together, eat together, sleeping quarters are not spacious. Each individual can socially distance to their own comfort level.
