We had a tornado touch down south of Hopkinsville on May 16. Our local team was able to take care of the needs of most of our members immediately. We just received 8 more work orders from our County Emergency Management Agency. We currently have workers and waivers to clean up around 40 trees and move them to the road for the county to pick up. We are requesting volunteers for June 9 thru June 11.
Housing will be at Faith Lutheran Church 405 Sheila Dr. Hopkinsville, KY 42240. Showers are being offered at our local Planet Fitness. Work days will be Monday thru Wednesday. Volunteers will work 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Pastor Fistler will attend the Mid-South District Convention on Thursday and can only work through Wednesday. Meals and drinks will be provided. We have a dozen cots and mats at the church should they be needed.
LERT chainsaw trained volunteers, pullers, draggers, and equipment are requested. All sawyers will be required to wear all necessary PPE for saw operations. Some PPE and saws can be provided by Faith In Action Disaster Response Team. Contact Pr. Fistler if you have any questions.
