The purpose of this event is to give participants an opportunity to serve their neighbor with the love of Christ by caring for their physical needs and helping with tree work and debris removal.
Description of work:
This project will involve, tree work and debris removal, activities common to storm damage recovery efforts due to damage due to Ice Storm Fern in the Nashville TN area.
IMPORTANT NOTES
LERT background checks are required for this Deployment because we are working in peoples' homes. The LCMS LERT system will take you to the Sterling Volunteers site to get your background check (no cost to all LERT volunteers) when you sign up for this LERT Deployment. Location: Redeemer Lutheran Church, 800 Bellevue Rd, Nashville, TN 37221
Housing Details:
- Bring air mattress or cot and other bedding materials
- Showers provided at local YMCA
- Meals will be provided
What you need to bring:
Clothing appropriate for the season.
Toiletries and prescription medicines
Steel Toe boots will be a necessity for chainsaw use
Work gloves
Protective eye wear
Long pants (jeans) and work shirts (of course, socks, etc.!)
Bring your own PPE if you have it.
Bring your own saws if you have one.
