We will be returning to Trinity Lutheran Church, 5001 Trotwood Ave, Columbia, TN to finish work we started back in May. We have 3 properties left to complete. Faith In Action Disaster Response Team will be there with a Bobcat MT100 and a few sawyers. Additional sawyers and/or skid steer with operator are needed. One team or individuals will be joyfully welcomed.
This work will be in close proximity to chainsaws. Volunteers need to be LERT chainsaw trained as a dragger at a minimum.
Any volunteers who show up without registering will be considered spontaneous and will not be permitted to join in LERT work or stay at the host site.
Volunteer background checks are required for this deployment as we will be staying overnight in a church.
Basic information for the site:
- Cots with pads are provided.
- Bring bedding for cot and or air mattress.
- Bring your own debris removal equipment & PPE.
- Bring your own chainsaw equipment & PPE if you have it. Some will be available if needed.
- Showers will be available off site.
- A/C working in sleeping area.
- Meals will be provided by local congregation.
Please be aware that the details of this deployment are very fluid. Information is changing on a daily basis. We will try to send updates in a timely fashion, but please check back often as the information may change.
Teams are asked to arrive Sunday or whatever logistic you need to be ready to work Monday, September 2 at 8:00am.
