On May 25, a tornado and related severe storms caused widespread damage in the Claremore area. The National Weather Service confirmed that the long-track supercell was extensive – issuing an EF3 rating with estimated peak wind speed of 145 to 155 miles per hour and a path length of 23.9 miles. Approxiately, 600 homes received damage in the storms and efforts continue to cleanup.
Redeemer Lutheran Church will be hosting local LERT volunteers for debris cleanup and chainsaw operations.
