LERT (Lutheran Early Response Team) Basic Training Event for new volunteer certification.
This certifies volunteers to work at disaster clean-up up sites across the country. It also prepares you to be part of our local team that stands prepared to respond when disasters happen in our area. A registration fee of $35 covers training materials, lunch, certificate, and an LCMS LERT T-shirt. Scholarships are available for anyone who cannot afford it. Please sign up and contact me to request a scholarship. Your LERT Trainer will distribute all materials.
A side event will take place concurrently for previously trained LERT volunteers. We will review procedures and have opportunities to learn how to use a tractor and Bobcat for debris removal. The registration for those previously trained is just $20.
A Chainsaw class will also be offered. See the separate training and deployment listing.
Doors open at 8:30 am, Class starts at 9:00 am and runs until about 1:30pm.
