LERT Deployment at Mt. Pisgah:
Travel on Wednesday, November 13th to work on Thursday, November 14th through Saturday, November 16th , with worship and/or travel on Sunday, November 17
Housing Details:
- Cots will be provided
- Bring bedding for cot and or air mattress
- Shower provided
- Power and water have been restored
- A/C working
- Meals will be provided
Equipment:
Limited equipment may be available, bring your own chainsaw equipment & PPE
Only those 18 and old, who have gone through the LERT Chainsaw training, may operate a chainsaw.
Background checks are required for this deployment.
Please be aware that the details of this deployment are very fluid. Information is changing as the response continues. We will try to send updates in a timely fashion, but please check back often as information may change.
All volunteers must be LERT trained – training will be done on site if needed. All volunteers who show up without registering will be considered spontaneous and will not be permitted to join in our work.
Workdays will be Thursday through Saturday, with Sunday a day to be thankful for all we have.
Health Precautions:
· North Carolina has a variety of temperatures – please bring appropriate clothes.
· Proper personal protective equipment (PPE), hardhat, eye protection, protective chaps, gloves must be worn when operating or working near a chainsaw.
· Sturdy, steel-toed work boots are required. Tennis shoes and open-toed shoes are not allowed on work sites.
· Long pants are required.
The congregation requests that teams all volunteers treat Sunday as Day of Worship, Sabbath, and time of transition as teams return to their homes and new teams arrive for Monday’s work.
