The purpose of this event is to give participants an opportunity to serve their neighbor with the love of Christ by caring for their physical needs and helping with tree work and debris removal.
Description of work:
This project will involve, tree work and debris removal, activities common to storm damage recovery efforts due to damage due to Hurricane Helene in the Hendersonville NC area. New areas for tree work have been opened up as bridges are repaired and opening entrances and exits to communities.

LERT background checks are required for this Deployment because we are working in peoples' homes. The LCMS LERT system will take you to the Sterling Volunteers site to get your background check (no cost to all LERT volunteers) when you sign up for this LERT Deployment.Location: Mt Pisgah Lutheran Church, 2606 Chimney Rock Road, Hendersonville, NC. 28792
Housing Details:
- Cots will be provided
- Bring bedding for cot and or air mattress
- Shower provided
- Meals will be provided
What you need to bring:
Clothing appropriate for the season.
Toiletries and prescription medicines
Sturdy shoes/work boots will be a necessity for carrying sheets of drywall down steps that have had carpet, etc. removed from them.
Work gloves
Protective eye wear
Long pants (jeans) and work shirts (of course, socks, etc.!)
