On Monday, April 14th through mid-day Thursday, April 18th, volunteers will work in a family's home in Hendersonville that was impacted in Hurricane Helene.
In this phase of rebuild, examples of work tasks will consist of:
* Possible demo of subfloor
* Possible interior wall painting
* Re-installation of flooring
* Possible demo and/or installation of cabinetry
* Possible removal of damaged porch
* Miscellaneous carpentry, drywall and general handyman tasks
* Possible insulation work
* Possible exterior work items
* Other items as directed by team lead
Work address will be provided to volunteers by the team lead. Watch your email.
Housing, showers, and meals at lodging address which will be emailed to those who sign up on this link by 04/07/2025.
Some tools will be provided by Lutheran Servants for Christ.
Based on the work described above, if volunteers have suitable tools, they will be a welcome addition--tape measure, straight-edge, square, box knife, hammer, battery-powered driver with bits for wallboard screws are examples. Full Tyvek suits and respirators will be provided for certain crawlspace activities. Bring personal protective equipment (PPE) (masks, ear protection, eye protection, gloves, etc.).

Ensure that your tetanus shot is updated, and any other checks recommended by your healthcare provider are in place.
