Volunteer: LERT deployment, Chainsaw work/debris Removal, Spartanburg SC, 9-2-2026This event is sponsored by SED Disaster Response and Shepherd's Heart Ministry. This event gives participants an opportunity to serve their neighbor in the love of Christ by caring for their physical needs and helping with tree work and debris removal. This is a one-day event to remove two trees damaged by Hurricane Helene before rebuild work is scheduled on the property. IMPORTANT NOTESLERT background checks are required for this Deployment because we are working in people's homes. The LCMS LERT system will take you to the Sterling Volunteers site to get your background check (no cost to all LERT volunteers) when you sign up for this LERT Deployment. Work staging: 212 Highland Ave, Greer, SC Participants must bring their own PPE and equipment. Sturdy shoes/work boots will be a necessity for carrying sheets of drywall down steps that have had carpet, etc. removed from them. Work gloves Protective eyewear Long pants (jeans) and work shirts (of course, socks, etc.)

This is part of the continuing recovery of activities common to storm damage due to Hurricane Helene in the Spartanburg, SC area.
