All LERT volunteers, assessments may begin in Spencer, Iowa and 4 other flooded towns nearby as early as Wednesday morning. We do not know the extent of the damage yet but have heard of water in church basements and water in pastor's basement. Please keep them in your prayers.
No details of the possible deployment are known yet. As soon as the situation is assessed by the DDRC and her team and needs are identified a second announcement will be sent out.
Please do not directly contact the pastors, congregations, district, etc. We will work through the LCMS LERT system for all communications and scheduling.
If a LERT deployment is scheduled, it will require background checks. If you do not have a current LERT background check you may want to begin the process now.
