Due to extreme flooding earlier this week, the Southern Illinois District Disaster Response program is asking SID LERT trained volunteers to go to stand-by status for assistance to the Washington County area.
Personnel from the LCMS Disaster Response program, the SID Disaster Response program and local officials with Trinity Lutheran Church will be meeting Friday, July 19, to develop a assessment of the needs in Washington County and to develop a response plan.
LERT volunteers are encouraged to examine their calendar for the coming weeks and to consider volunteering to assist.
Upon the development of a plan and response, more information, details and logistics will be provided through the LCMS-LERT.org portal.
