Areas in middle Tennessee and Mississippi were hit especially hard by this weekend's winter storm. Freezing rain has caused widespread damage and power outages, with bitter cold now settling in over much of our region. In the Nashville area alone, 175,000 people remain without power tonight. As progress is made to restore power and clear roads in these areas, the Mid-South District is preparing to offer aid.
LERT Chainsaw trained volunteers are asked to be on standby until we can begin assessments and determine what size response will be needed. Our local team will clear trees from the entrances to our church parking lot and the pastor's homes later this week so that a host congregation can be established.
