Description

In support of Orphan Grain Train's efforts to restore fences destroyed by wildfires in Nebraska this spring, OGT is seeking people willing to help build fences.  OGT is managing contacts and has delivered fencing materials to some farmers and ranchers.  The ideal work group is a 4-man crew needed to run a skid steer post driver, wire unroller and secure wires to posts.  DeWayne Erickson of OGT is the lead contact for this work.  He needs 2 more people to fill one crew this next week on land near Farnum, NE, with work planned for Wednesday, May 20, Thursday, May 21, and perhaps Friday, May 22. If a second group of 4 people would also like to help, DeWayne will try to arrange equipment for that group as well.  Workers will lodge in Gothenburg, Nebraska, because there are no housing facilities in Farnum. OGT will pick up the cost of lodging. Duane is also planning work for the following week; the dates are not yet confirmed.  If you are interested in helping, please text DeWayne at 402-450-9458 to confirm your willingness, share your available dates, let him know any equipment you have, and receive further instructions.  Workers should provide their own gloves and fencing tools.  No background check is required for this work.  (Alternate phone numbers: OGT at 402-371-7393 or Mick Onnen 402-364-3370).
