Are you wondering if LERT will be responding to recent disasters? Hurricane Ida? Floods? If you are interested in seeing what is going on in terms of trainings, deployments, and announcements in your district or other districts in the LCMS, please "Become a Fan" of each district of interest to you and you will receive information on all of these events.
To Become a Fan, log on to the www.lcms-lert.org website and click on "Districts" on the left side of the page. You will see all the LCMS districts participating in LERT. At the bottom of each district box there is a blue bar with "Become a Fan" on it. Click that bar and it will turn on notifications that originate in that district. It's fine to click on all the districts to be come a fan of them all, and you can also turn this function on and off as you wish. It is important that you "Become a Fan" of at least your own district so you can receive notices of deployments, training, and other announcements.
Special Note: To see what is going on in the South after Hurricane Ida, you can become a fan of Southern District. They are handling assessment and deployments to the Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama area. Note that they cannot handle too many volunteers right now, but they have opened up a few spots for self-contained chainsaw operators. The need there will be ongoing and changing for months ahead.
