Brothers and Sisters
Thank you to all of the wonderful volunteers that have been coming to Copperfield subdivision for the last 2 months. We don’t accept cash from the homeowners and we do not expect any rewards for the volunteer work we are doing. However, I have attached scans of some of the heartfelt thank you cards we have been receiving because of the work you are doing. Please take the time to read these wonderful notes from the homeowners.
Copperfield Update:
- We still only have 58 basements on our list.
- 30 of the 58 are either complete or are being completed by the homeowners themselves with drywall that our LERT team provided.
- Our volunteers are currently working at different stages in 3 different basements.
- We have 24 basements that still need our help.
Please note that beginning the week of November 7th there will be a new deployment posted on the LCMS-LERT.org website for Copperfield subdivision. It will be labeled Phase 3 and will cover November and December for signing up for shifts.
Also note that we will change from a 6 day work week (Monday thru Saturday) to a 4 day work week (Wednesday thru Saturday). The Saturday shifts are for everyone however it was set up so the working members of our volunteer teams would have access to one day a week to volunteer at Copperfield. Also note that we will typically meet at the Copperfield subdivision at 8:00am unless otherwise noted. Water and Gatorade will still be provided and lunch will also be provided by two of the local Lutheran churches in the St. Peters area.
Also, when the November and December deployment is posted you will observe that there is no shift for Thursday November 3rd or Thursday December 1st. These two days have been declared “Day of the Shepherds”. These two days will be for any or all of the Pastors in the State of Missouri to have an opportunity to volunteer at the Copperfield subdivision deployment site and see first-hand the true and very real mission of mercy that is ongoing in St. Peters. Please share this news with your Pastors and if they invite you to go with them say yes.
Next week I am in particular need of volunteers each day in order to coordinate our work with the family living in the home we will be working on. Because the family is currently living in the home they have agreed to place their furniture in a storage pod in order to be out of the way of our work, and they will move to a B&B so we can focus on installing drywall and hanging insulation. The work will be in a nearby subdivision and not in Copperfield and the address is: 30 Jamestown Dr. St. Peters, Mo. It is very important that I have enough volunteers available to be able to complete our work in their home so they can move back in as soon as possible. If I have an abundance of volunteers we will also continue working our list of basements in Copperfield simultaneously. If you have any available days next week, please consider volunteering. We really need your help next week.
Again, thanks for all of the hard work that each of you have been doing. You are making a difference in the lives of the families in Copperfield subdivision.
And forward this information to anyone that might consider helping us.
Blessings
Kris
