We thank the Lord for sparing so many of our Lutheran Churches and families from damage in Hurricane Idalia. While many areas sustained coastal flooding and wind damage, the storm’s damage quickly diminished inland.
After assessing the affected area damages and needs, the SELC District, FLGA District and LCMS Disaster Response have determined there will be no organized District LERT response. Our nearest churches are 1-1.5 hours from affected areas. Though there are some areas with needs, the goal of LERT is to assist churches in their ministry to their communities. Thank you for being ready to serve the Lord's church.
