LERT Volunteers are needed for light chainsaw work (removal of 6 smaller trees) and general campus debris cleanup following a high wind event impacting the campus! (A second deployment is anticipated for higher tree trimming when appropriate equipment is available.) The project will require three local qualified LERT chainsaw operators and other volunteers for raking, cleaning parking lots, loading and hauling debris to a brush pile. A skid steer, dump trailer and battery operated leaf blowers are also needed.
LERT background checks are required for this deployment
Concordia University will provide lodging and meals for volunteers. Water will be provided. LERT volunteers may want to bring bedding and typical essentials. Saw operators must provide their own equipment and PPE. Pole saws would be helpful.
Concordia University is located at 800 North Columbia Avenue in Seward, Nebraska. LERT volunteers should report to Janzow Campus Center dining area at 9 am on 8/14/25 for check-in and instructions. Only registered LERT volunteers will be allowed to participate!
