Volunteers are needed to do chainsaw work to cleanup tornado damage. Assessors are currently meeting with homeowners from 2 Lutheran churches in the Rolla area. Chainsaw work will mainly be in homeowners' yards and will require dragging limbs and trunks to the street at this time.
Housing will be provided by Redeemer and will be in their gym. There are no showers at the location but shower provisions at a nearby site is being confirmed. All volunteers must bring their own cots, bedding and towels etc.
Meals will not be provided by Redeemer. We can use the kitchen in the gym and we are working out the details for LERT volunteers to cook all the meals for the teams. We anticipate having everyone chip in to buy the groceries.
LERT background check is required for this deployment.
All chainsaw operators must provide their own PPE and chainsaw equipment. Must be LERT qualified chainsaw operator to cut or pull. All volunteers are requested to wear yellow LERT shirts or vests.
