Any volunteers who show up without registering will be considered spontaneous and will not be permitted to join in LERT work or stay at the host site.
LERT volunteer background checks are required for this deployment.
We have work orders to perform chainsaw work for communities near Batesville, AR. We are asking for LERT Chainsaw trained volunteers to respond for this community. Hope Lutheran Church 2415 E Main St, Batesville, AR 72501, will be hosting our team. We can accommodate 10 volunteers. Food and water will be provided.
Minimum age to work as a dragger is 16. Minors must be accompanied by a chaperone and wear blue vest. Minimum age to operate a chainsaw is 18 after successfully completing the Basic LERT Chainsaw operator class.
Basic information for the site:
A few cots can be provided.
Bring your own bedding for cot and or air mattress.
Bring your own debris removal equipment & PPE
Bring your own chainsaw equipment & PPE.
Power and water has been restored.
One shower available at church.
Make & Female bathrooms.
A/C working in sleeping area.
Meals will be provided by local congregation.
Please be aware that the details of this deployment are very fluid. Information is changing on a daily basis. We will try to send updates in a timely fashion, but please check back often as the information may change
Workdays will be Monday through Thursday. Volunteers are welcome to arrive Sunday evening. Our DDRC, Kurt Ludwig will be at Hope Lutheran Church to hand out work orders Monday morning. Faith In Action Disaster Response Team plans to arrive Monday around noon with heavy equipment, extra chainsaws, and PPE, if others need it.
