There are approximately six dead oak trees on the Bethel Lutheran property just west of DuQuoin, Il., that need to be removed and piled for burning. As the congregation has disbanded, the church and property have reverted to the Southern Illinois District who wishes to divest itself of the property.
Water will be provided; volunteers may wish to bring a brown bag lunch, as it is estimated we may have five to six hours of work. Volunteers should wear appropriate attire for working around chainsaw operations. Chainsaw operators must be LERT-trained operators.
Please meet at the church property at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers from Murphysboro should meet at Immanuel ready to leave by 8:00 a.m. The SID disaster trailer and skid steer will be brought to the site.
