Need: This is a request for a one day event for LERT response to Defiance, MO. Volunteers needed help for cleanup efforts following tornado activity in the Defiance/Augusta, Mo area.
Tasks: Debris removal, chain sawing, and support of those who have sustained loss in the storms.
Host congregation: is Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wentzville, MO 632 Hwy N.
Location: Participants will meet at Immanuel, Wentzville at 11:30am for team preparations & instructions.
Items to Bring: Volunteers should wear work clothes, protective boots, gloves, hard hats, and equipment for their shift. Contact Kris Schuldt to borrow hard hats. Mark your name on all items you bring.
Lunch: It is planned to provide Lunch for LERT volunteers at the host site but volunteers should have adequate supplemental water and snacks.
Registration: * Any volunteers that show up without registering on LCMS-LERT.org will be considered spontaneous and will not be permitted to join in the work until volunteer registration is completed. * (See Kris Schuldt for assistance.)
COVID Accommodations: Local COVID protocols cannot always be followed in a disaster response situation. We ride in trucks together, eat together, sleeping quarters are not spacious. Each individual can mask & socially distance to their own comfort level.
