NOTE: this training was originally scheduled for the 15th, but is now postponed until the 29th so more of you can join us! Thanks for signing up!
MN South District is looking to send a disaster relief LERT team to Florida in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian. This training will qualify you for this and any other future LERT missions being held locally or around the country. We would love to see you with us! We will be learning the basics of what it means to be a Lutheran Early Response Team member. Topics include everything from theology to the practicalities of what to say to a disaster victim, to how we work together in safety.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Please arrive by 8:30 am if at all possible to complete registration and sign in.
There is a $20 fee for the class materials and lunch!
Who can be trained?
Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend this LERT training session. Only LCMS members who are 14 years or older, however, will receive certification as LCMS LERT volunteers. You will receive your certificate of participation, volunteer ID card, and T-shirt from LCMS Disaster Response after the training is complete. Your LERT trainer will distribute all the LERT materials during and after the class.
