MN South District is looking to train and equip LERT team members to respond to any disaster relief opportunities here in MN - and even beyond our borders. This training will qualify you for upcoming LERT missions being extended locally or around the country. We would love to see you with us! There is room for all of God's people in extending God's presence to those most in need. We will be learning the basics of what it means to be a Lutheran Early Response Team member. Topics include the theology of God in disaster, the practicalities of what to say to a disaster victim, and to how we work together in safety.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Please arrive by 8:30 am if at all possible to complete registration and sign in.
There is a $30 fee for the class materials and lunch - Please make a check payable to MNS District on the day of the event.
Who can be trained? Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend this LERT training session. Only LCMS members who are 14 years or older, however, will receive certification as LCMS LERT volunteers. You will receive your LERT certificate of participation, volunteer ID card, and T-shirt after the training is complete. Your LERT trainer will distribute all the LERT materials during and after the class.
