LERT received a call from a fellow Christian friend that a woman was in need of help to remove a huge tree trunk left by a power company. The giant tree began leaning after the June 17th, Father's Day storm. So to prevent it from falling on their electrical equipment in her yard, they cut it down and left it. With no means to remove the trunk, it has sat in the middle of her yard.
This work will consist of chainsaw work to cut the 38" dia. tree trunk into manageable segments. The segments will then need to be lifted by a tractor and grapple to trailers. Limb debris will also need to hauled to a trailer.
Volunteers will be required to wear steel toed boots. PPE for cutters and draggers will be provided.
Water, gatorade and snacks will also be provided.
Volunteers should meet at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at 7:00am for car pooling to Sand Springs.
Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church is located at 724 N Javine Hill, Skiatook, OK 74070.
