WANTED!! LERT VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT DISASTER RESPONSE AND WISHING TO PARTICIPATE IN HELPING US BUILD, EQUIP & ENCOURAGE LERT TEAMS IN THE KANSAS DISTRICT!!! DAMAGE ASSESSMENT PERSONNEL TRAINING.

AM SESSION (8:30-12:30): TRAIN THE TRAINER IS INTENDED TO RAISE UP LERT VOLUNTEERS WHO WANT TO TAKE AN ACTIVE ROLE IN FACILTATING BASIC LERT TRAINING EVENTS IN THE KANSAS DISTRICT. Participants will be introduced to the most current LCMS Disaster Response/LERT Training program AND the LCMS-LERT scheduling software.

PM SESSION (12:30-5:00): ASSESSMENT TRAINING: This session is the first step in equipping LERT volunteers to perform damage assessments in varied scenarios and settings. Assessors will be called upon in the early stages of Disaster Response in the Kansas District assisting the DDRC and team leaders in scheduling projects related to the response. 

ATTEND ONE SESSION (Shift) OR BOTH!

Location: King of Kings Lutheran Church, 306 E Madison, Gardner, KS 

Both courses will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024. Please arrive by 8:00am to complete registration and sign in.

Training event is facilitated by: NE Training Team-Gardner

Lunch will be provided.

Registration: FREE to attend. Please register before August 24, 2024. Walk-ins are welcome on a limited basis as materials will be limited.

What will we study?
Train the Trainer: 8:30am to 12:30pm
1) Presentation of the newest release of the LCMS LERT Training program & material
2) Introduction to LCMS-LERT.org software
3) Basics of class presentation. Q&A

Assessments: 12:30pm to 5pm
1) Visual exploration of work site to determine extent of work needed
2) Determining volunteer requirements
3) Determining equipment needed to complete job
4) Securing required signatures on Liability forms and Work orders
5) Brief introduction to new Assessments software

Who can be trained? Attend one session (shift) or both
Train the Trainer: Anyone 18 years and older who is interested and is willing to commit to at least 2 training events per year is welcome to attend this LERT Train the Trainer session.
Assessments: Anyone 18 years and older who is interested in working in the early stages of a disaster to help with damage assessment and work orders.

Your LERT TTT facilitators will distribute all the LERT materials before and during class.
