Description Stepping Stone Ministry, an LCMS Recognized Service Organization to homeless men in the Atlanta, GA, area needs work on their center. Tasks will include: removal of ceramic tile on bathroom floors and showers, removal and rebuilding of bathroom vanities, building out walls, drywall, build out of sunken floor, painting, laying a concrete pad, laying ceramic tile and laminate flooring, ceramic tiling of shower walls, and some plumbing.
Skill Level: Volunteers skilled in construction are desired, or should at least have a good working knowledge of tools or a desire to learn.
Tools: Volunteers should bring their own tools and equipment. All construction material will be provided.
Housing: Volunteers will be staying onsite in beds. Sheets and pillow are provided, but volunteers should bring a blanket. Laundry and showers are available. Internet available, but cell service is poor.
Meals: Food will mostly be provided, with volunteers possibly helping out for any additional items. Volunteers will be preparing meals and cleanup.
Background Checks: Volunteers need to have LERT background checks.
Dates:
Arrive: Sunday, September 8, after 3:00 pm.
Work: Monday, September 9 through Friday, September 13
Leave: Saturday, September 14, or whenever work is finished (if earlier). The work is scheduled for 5 work days and volunteers are encouraged to stay the entire week, however if you can only work a couple days that is okay.
RV’s: There are no provided RV sites and it is discouraged.
