On May 24th, Auburn, Neb., experienced 85-mph winds, causing significant tree damage throughout the city. Although a lot of ground cleanup has been done, LERT Chainsaw and debris removal Volunteers are needed to trim damaged trees and remove higher broken branches and widow-makers to make properties safe for homeowners.
All LERT volunteers are requested to report to Trinity Lutheran Church, 634 Alden Drive, Auburn, Neb, on Tuesday, May 26th at 10:00 am.
LERT chainsaw volunteers must provide their own equipment and PPE. All volunteers should bring work gloves, steel-toed boots and clothes appropriate for the job and this time of year. If you have a pole chainsaw, please bring it. If you have experience operating a lift, that would be helpful.
Only registered LERT volunteers will be allowed to participate. LERT background checks will be required as we will be staying in the homes of members of Trinity Lutheran Church.
All volunteers must register at www.lcms-lert.org website.
